Two weeks out — service it. Change the oil before storage, not after. Used oil carries acidic combustion byproducts that sit against bearing surfaces for the whole term. Check coolant condition and brake fluid, which absorbs moisture during monsoon humidity spikes.
One week out — treat the fuel. Fill to roughly 90% to limit the condensation space, then treat with PRI-G or Sta-Bil 360 and run the engine long enough to move treated fuel through lines, filter and injectors — not just the tank.
Departure week — decontaminate. Wash, iron-remove, clay and dry completely. Anything left on the clearcoat has six months to etch. Do not apply a cover for indoor storage; inside filtered, conditioned air a cover only traps residual dust against the finish.
Drop-off — tender and lift. Connect a proper microprocessor-controlled battery tender, not a constant-current trickle charger that will cook the battery over six months.
