The 2026 World Series of Poker ran from 26 May to 15 July at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas — just under seven weeks, straddling the two hottest months in the valley. The WSOP is not one tournament. It is a series of roughly a hundred bracelet events run back to back, and the players who take it seriously structure their whole summer around it. Late May through mid-July, in a city that averages 115°F at peak and carries a UV index of 10 to 12 from May through September.
That is the part that catches people out. A car parked for a long weekend in Las Vegas is fine. A car parked for seven weeks between late May and mid-July is a different proposition entirely, because every degradation mechanism in a stationary vehicle is temperature-driven and all of them run at their maximum rate during exactly those weeks. 26 May to 15 July 2026, hosted at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas on the centre Strip. The series has not been held at the Rio since 2021, so plan your parking around the Paris and Horseshoe corridor rather than the old Rio lot. 2027 dates have not been announced; historically they land in the same window.
There is a second problem specific to this event, and it is the one nobody plans for: you do not know how long you are staying. A player who books two weeks and then min-cashes a $1,500 event on day nine is not going home. Deep runs extend trips. That makes an open-ended arrangement worth more than a cheap fixed one.
The default is to leave the car with the hotel. It is the path of least resistance and, for a car worth real money, the most expensive convenience in Las Vegas. Two separate costs are worth separating: the money and the condition of the car.
On a self-park garage the daily rate is modest; over seven weeks it stops being modest, and valet with tips is several times that. But the running cost is the smaller half of the argument. The larger half is that a valet deck is an open-air structure in a city where surface temperatures on the upper levels are brutal, and that your car spends the summer inches from strangers’ door edges.
Ask any Strip valet what happens to the keys of a car nobody has claimed in five weeks. The honest answer is that it gets shuffled — moved to long-stay, moved again when the deck fills for a fight weekend, started occasionally. Every one of those movements is a short cold start that puts moisture into the oil without ever reaching the temperature that removes it.
These are not abstractions. Each one is measurable over a seven-week series.
Holding temperature alone does not solve the last one. Humidity control is the separate specification, and it is the one most facilities quietly omit — climate controlled versus temperature controlled.
A large share of the WSOP field drives rather than flies, because the Southern California to Las Vegas run is four hours on I-15 and it is easier to bring your own car than to rent one for seven weeks. If that is you, the car arrives having just done four hours across the Mojave in June, which is the single hardest thing you can ask of a cooling system and a set of tires.

This is the practical objection to off-site storage, and it is a fair one. If you are at a table from noon until two in the morning, you are not driving out to a facility to collect a car, and a storage arrangement that assumes you will is no use to you.

We do not price a WSOP stay as a fixed seven-week block, because almost nobody’s series is exactly seven weeks. Start and end dates stay flexible. If you bust in week two you are not paying for week six; if you final-table an event and stay another month, nothing needs renegotiating.
On insurance: a long stay is exactly when you want to confirm your policy responds to a vehicle in commercial storage, and on what valuation basis. The facility’s liability cover does not insure your car — it insures the building. What a standard policy actually covers.
WSOP is the longest event on the calendar, but it is not the only one that turns parking into a problem. If you are in town repeatedly, the same storage arrangement covers the rest of the year.
What all of them share is the same underlying arithmetic: a valuable car parked in an uncontrolled Las Vegas structure is depreciating faster than it would anywhere else in the country, and the cost of preventing that is a fraction of one bracelet-event buy-in.
